My name is Heidi Pliam, and I started the TrademarkEdge brand years ago as an information resource. Eventually I learned what most small businesses need isn't more information, but rather better solutions --solutions that get the job done effectively, without complication and unnecessary expense -- solutions that are comprehensive and do not leave gaps between where one professional advisor ends and the other begins.
philosophical shift
Who said lawyers only get to talk about the legal side of branding (ie. trademark law) and that designers get to talk about everything else, not just design but strategy? That seems messed up when you think about it. Lawyers are trained, hired, and promoted for their thinking skill, analysis and good judgment. Meanwhile, branding firms are primarily design-oriented creative thinkers. Their skills are invaluable, but as creatives, not necessarily as strategic brand management consultants. For that, I'd look either to MBAs or lawyers.
Being full-service doesn't mean we only serve a full 5-course meal when you need a snack to tide you over. We have also cut out fat that simply isn't necessary for smaller businesses, because of their smaller investments in product development and marketing.
